We have had a very busy week at Wentworth with a special visit from the Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia - celebrating Canada's 150th Birthday, Jump Rope for Heart, mariachi bands, swim meets, basketball tournaments, band informances, financial literacy lessons, public speaking celebrations, exciting science experiments and the very popular Mr. Lake playing with the Kindergarten students.
Wentworth’s 4th annual Mini WE Day will be taking place on Wednesday, March 8th 2017. All students in grades 1 to 7 will be attending this special event in Wentworth’s Telfer-Katz gymnasium.
Mini WE Day is about empowering the young students of Collingwood, through a fun and inspirational event, to become more aware and responsible for change in our local and global communities. Through leadership and direction from the dedicated Young Round Square group, Mini WE Day will showcase several outstanding talents from across both campuses. Our students are truly the generation of the future!
This year’s theme is ‘Youth Empowerment.’ Our guest speaker, Ryan Hreljac (founder of Ryan’s Well Foundation), will open up our event. He will inspire Wentworth by sharing his personal experiences related to this theme. His dream to help others started 20 years ago when he was only six years old! To support the hard work Ryan completes across the globe, we are asking all students to bring in a Toonie ($2) to their homeroom teachers during the week of Mini WE Day. Students can wear their civvies to school this day and accessorize with fun colours! Thank you for supporting this fantastic initiative!
